OASIS, Inc., a non-profit agency serving victims of domestic and sexual violence in Watauga and Avery Counties, is seeking a full-time Avery Services Coordinator.
The Avery Services Coordinator is a supporting member of the OASIS direct client services staff and the Community Systems team. This position is the primary direct client service advocate for Avery County based clients and assists with judicial systems advocacy, healthcare systems advocacy, housing programs, and language access efforts. Additionally, this position is required to develop and maintain community partnerships and collaborations, assist in the facilitation of our Avery County multidisciplinary team, P.A.R.T (Preventing Abuse Response Team).
Qualifications: Relevant four-year degree and previous experience in a human services field preferred. Excellent communication skills, organizational skills, and basic computer skills required. The ideal candidate will be comfortable and proficient in crisis intervention, direct client services, community collaboration, and case management. Must have reliable transportation and drivers license. Those local to Avery County or with Spanish language skills are especially encouraged to apply. Salary range is $36,000 - $43,999 plus benefits. Salary adjustments are considered on an annual basis and are determined by funding availability and job performance.
Responsibilities
- Provide advocacy, case management, crisis intervention and emotional support for victims and survivors of domestic and sexual violence.
- Respond to crisis calls by meeting with survivors in either an office or community setting.
- Provide medical and judicial systems advocacy, when necessary.
- Provide OASIS crisis line support.
- Maintain up to date client files and OASIS database entries.
- Avery County OASIS office.
- Keep Community Systems Manager apprised of any Avery office maintenance, structural, or security issues.
- Ensure the cleanliness of Avery office.
- Ensure promotional materials are up to date, visible to walk-in customers, and easily accessible to the public.
- Actively participate in the Avery County Preventing Abuse Response Team (PART).
- Take lead role in coordinating services and serve as liaison between OASIS and the community for Avery County.
- Communicate with and cultivate relationships with local stakeholders such as DSS; Law Enforcement; Court Personnel; Daymark and other local mental health providers; Avery County school counselors; Cannon Hospital personnel (SANE Nurses; Social Workers; Crisis Team).
Other Duties
- Participate in monthly staff meetings, clinical supervision, and staff development activities.
- Conduct educational programs for clients and community members about a variety of topics. Represent OASIS at community events and on committees as needed. Attend meetings with community partners on a regular basis as assigned by supervisor.
- Attend Board meetings and serve on Board committees as needed.
- Assume responsibility for clerical needs related to the duties of the position and assist with other duties as needed.
- Sort, distribute or dispose of donations as needed.
- Minimum lifting requirement of 25 lbs.

- Must meet the necessary Motor Vehicle Record Check requirements set forth by Philadelphia Insurance Companies, have a valid Driver's License, and up-to-date vehicle insurance to operate the OASIS vehicle when necessary.

- Complete a minimum of thirty (30) initial training hours, and twenty (20) continuing education hours annually thereafter per OASIS Staff Training Requirements.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Deputy or Executive Director.
Working Conditions
- Some evening and weekend work will be required.
- Overnight travel may be required for conferences and training opportunities.
- Hazards may include physical threats from victims’ abusers. Client services staff may also be exposed to physical threats from mediating disputes between residents as well as illness from communal living situations.
