Job Summary: The Asset Maintenance (AM) Bridge position requires work in a fast-paced, team environment in various elements of weather performing multiple job responsibilities, often beside a major roadway or structures. The position requires the safe and efficient use of various tools, equipment, and materials. An AM Bridge Tech must be able to work varying hours daily based on Company and work needs. The position requires the team member to work well with others under both direct and indirect supervision. The position requires experience and knowledge of roadway safety. Asset maintenance specifications and or structure repair knowledge is preferred. The AM Bridge Tech position demands attention to detail.
Essential Functions, Duties, and Responsibilities
Tasks may include but are not limited to the following:
- Perform work safely and efficiently as described in “AM Crew Duties” according to the crew to which you are assigned.
- Use and maintain assigned vehicle, equipment and tools in a safe manner per Company Policy and Guidelines.
· Report equipment or safety issues to the crew leader immediately.
· Pay attention during safety meetings. Ask for clarification as needed.
· Ability to adhere to all Company policies and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
· Ensure understanding of expectation for each job:
o What tasks need to be completed? What is your part in that task?
o Work efficiently and steadily, work as a team
· Ability to communicate and work effectively with all crew members.
· Immediately report coworker or customer conflicts to crew leader.
· Complete and submit service and Company-related documentation in an accurate and timely manner.
· Ask supervisor for any training or clarification necessary to perform assigned tasks.
· Double-check your work for the day. Look for and report any areas of concern to the crew leader.
· Complete assigned tasks promptly, steadily, and safely. See crew leader promptly when all tasks are complete.
· Help coworkers complete tasks when you have finished your assignment.
· Be teachable and helpful to your crew leader.
· Conduct pre- and post- vehicle, trailer, and equipment checks as required.
· Take responsibility for vehicle/equipment maintenance
Advanced Tasks:
· When issues arise be engaged in determining and offering possible solutions.
· Show positive leadership qualities through integrity, positivity, teachability, and striving for better efficiency.
· Be aware of potential issues for future tasks and notify supervisor if it cannot be easily corrected.
· Learn MRP standards
· Conduct crew trainings for vehicle/equipment maintenance, work standards, safety, etc.
Assist crew leader with his/her responsibilities
Qualifications: Education, Experience, and Skills
Required:
· High School diploma or equivalent.
· Successful completion of Company approved training program.
· Ability to walk, climb, stoop, reach, crawl, crouch, kneel, push, pull and lift a minimum of 50lbs.
· Ability to read and write.
· Safety conscious focus.
· Ability to work nights and weekend as the project requires.
· Ability to work more than an 8-hour day as needed to meet goals.
· Valid driver license required.
· Must be at least 23 years of age.
· Must pass seven-year criminal background check.
· Must pass substance abuse testing.
Must pass seven-year motor vehicle report and meet eligibility requirements criteria of insurance carrier.
Associated Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
· Ability to work and stay on task with limited supervision.
· Ability to learn and identify various highway maintenance deficiencies.
· Ability to correctly use highway maintenance equipment and tools.
· Ability to navigate around equipment safely.
· Ability to pull a trailer safely, if driving.
Ability to work on a major roadway safely (conscious of traffic patterns, surroundings, etc.)
