Qualifications
- Demonstrates the ability to read, write, and follow a written Plan of Care by using verbal, written and interpersonal skills
- Licensed driver with automobile insurance in accordance with state and/ or Oasis requirements.
- 18 years of age
- Successful completion of a formal certification training program and a written skills test and competency evaluation given by Oasis
Essential Functions/Areas of Accountability
- Patient Care: Assist patients with daily activities, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and eating. Provide invaluable support in maintaining mobility, transfers, and overall comfort.
- Vital Sign Monitoring: Record and communicate vital signs like temperature, blood pressure, pulse, and respiration. Promptly inform supervising nurses of any deviations from normal readings.
- Documentation: Maintain meticulous records of patient care tasks, vital signs, and noteworthy observations. Adhere diligently to agency and regulatory documentation standards.
- Collaborative Support: Collaborate with registered nurses (RNs) and licensed practical nurses (LPNs) to execute care plans. Aid in specimen collection, procedure preparation, and other clinical duties.
- Engagement and Empathy: Lead therapeutic activities and prescribed exercises to engage patients. Provide companionship and emotional encouragement, promoting holistic well-being.
- Infection Control: Implement rigorous infection control practices, fostering a clean and safe patient environment in alignment with hygiene protocols.
- Effective Communication: Foster clear communication with patients, families, and the healthcare team. Share pertinent patient updates, concerns, and observed changes in a timely manner.
- Patient Safety: Enforce fall prevention strategies, assist in pressure ulcer prevention, and ensure comprehensive patient safety throughout all care interactions.
