Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will provide high-quality patient care. As an LVN, you will play a vital role in supporting patients' health and well-being through effective nursing practices and collaboration with healthcare professionals.
Duties
- Administer medications and injections as prescribed by physicians.
- Conduct physical examinations and assist in diagnostic evaluations.
- Monitor patients' vital signs and report any changes to the healthcare team.
- Provide wound care, including suturing when necessary.
- AThe LVN will provide nursing care and support to residents in a congregate living setting, ensuring compliance with medical regulations and facility policies. Duties include but are not limited to:
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians.
- Monitor and document residents’ health status, vital signs, and symptoms.
- Assist with daily living activities such as hygiene, mobility, and nutritional needs.
- Collaborate with registered nurses (RNs), physicians, and other healthcare professionals.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records and documentation.
- Respond to emergencies and provide first aid or CPR when necessary.
- Educate residents and families on health maintenance and disease prevention.
- Ensure compliance with all state and federal healthcare regulations.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for residents.
- Participate in facility meetings, training sessions, and quality improvement programs.
Skills
- Proficient in primary care practices and patient assessment techniques.
- Experience administering injections safely and effectively.
- Knowledge of ICU protocols and procedures, particularly in a Level I Trauma Center environment.
- Familiarity with diagnostic evaluation processes to support patient assessments.
- Strong understanding of medical terminology for accurate communication within the healthcare team.
- Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with patients, families, and colleagues.
- Ability to work collaboratively in fast-paced environments while maintaining attention to detail.
