Qualifications
Experience
- Minimal or 12-week clinical rotation experience required
- Knowledge of sterile technique.
- Knowledge of operating room procedures.
- Willing to learn usage of new equipment and techniques.
- High School graduate
- None
- Current CPR certification
- Exemplifies good customer service.
- Demonstrates knowledge of perioperative factors that might alter the perioperative phase.
- Ensures sterile and aseptic technique when opening supplies, setting up for procedures, and maintains throughout procedure.
- Proficient at cleaning of operating room before and between cases.
- Prepares case carts by pulling supplies and instruments from physician preference cards.
- Performs surgical scrub and hold retractors under the guidance of physician and CST/RN.
- Reports any breach in sterility to surgeon and circulating RN.
- Completes annual education and regulatory requirements, including state and federal regulation.
