Disaster Relief – Virginia Beach, VA
Operation Blessing (OB) is seeking an experienced Accounting Specialist to provide financial and accounting support for our global Disaster Relief team. Skilled in budget management, accounts payable, financial record-keeping and grant reporting, this individual will ensure accurate expense tracking, compliance, and timely payments while supporting disaster relief deployments.
Must be able to travel domestically and internationally
The ideal candidate will have the following qualifications:
- Educational background or demonstrated experience with fundamental accounting principles, particularly in accounts payable
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage and prioritize tasks effectively
- Ability to engage positively with staff, leadership and the public in a professional manner
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Proven ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment while meeting deadlines under pressure
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, with strong expertise in Microsoft Excel
- Strong mathematical aptitude and ability to work with financial data
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team
- Strong discretion in handling sensitive financial information and the ability to exercise sound judgment
- Ability to travel both domestically and internationally on short notice as needed
