Position Overview
This role involves creating and managing technical documentation, with a specific focus on proposal writing and analysis. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in technical writing, excellent communication skills, and the ability to oversee and guide a team of writers. This role will involve writing convincing proposals, researching and organizing information in a professional credible manner. OBAN's Technical Writer will work with the business development team to conceptualize new opportunities and create compelling content that will form the backbone of winning proposals. The Technical Writer will protect the company’s value by keeping information confidential.

Key Responsibilities
- Proposal Writing and Management:
- Lead the development and writing of proposals, ensuring they meet client requirements and are delivered on time.
- Coordinate with various departments to gather necessary information for proposals.
- Review and edit proposals to ensure clarity, consistency, and compliance with company standards.
- Technical Documentation:
- Create, edit, and maintain comprehensive technical documents, including user manuals, system documentation, and training materials.
- Ensure all technical documentation is accurate, well-organized, and easy to understand.
- Team Oversight:
- Provide managerial oversight to a team of writers, offering guidance and support as needed.
- Conduct regular reviews of team members’ work to ensure high-quality output.
- Mentor and train junior writers to enhance their skills and knowledge.
- Analysis and Reporting:
- Analyze proposal outcomes and provide feedback to improve future submissions.
- Generate reports on proposal success rates and other relevant metrics.
- Collaboration and Communication:
- Work closely with project managers and other stakeholders to gather information and ensure documentation accuracy.
- Facilitate communication between different departments to streamline the documentation process.
- Bachelor’s degree in Technical Writing, English, Communications, or a related field.
- 4-7 years of experience in technical writing, with a focus on proposal writing and analysis.
- Proven experience in managing a team of writers.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and documentation tools.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Experience with content management systems (CMS) and document management software.
- Familiarity with industry standards and best practices in technical writing.
- Knowledge of graphic design tools for creating visual aids and diagrams.
