The Oberlin College Department of Art is seeking a student worker to serve as the Tuesday night figure drawing session supervisor.

Qualifications
Applicant must be a currently enrolled Oberlin College student.
Compensation
$12.00 per hour
Special Instructions to Applicants
The Session Monitor acts as a proctor during the Studio Art Program’s Open Drawing figure modeling sessions. Open Drawing is available to current Oberlin College students as an opportunity to draw from a professional figure model using one of the drawing classrooms. Open Drawing occurs on Thursday evenings between 6pm and 9pm, with the Monitor being responsible for unlocking the space, setting up lights/heaters, taking attendance, and ensuring the space is closed properly at the conclusion of the session.
The Monitor must be present during the duration of the 3-hour session; if inclined, the Monitor may also draw, but can also use any downtime during the shift for non-disruptive study. The Monitor will also review the student conduct guide for model sessions and ensure that student attendees are in compliance (no photography, no disruptive behavior, proper use of the space and equipment, etc.) Training will be provided by the 2D Studio Manager and will also include emergency procedures and lab safety as they pertain to the space.
The Monitor is also expected to maintain communication with the 2D Studio Manager and to convey any absences in a timely manner, as well as report session attendance, and any issues/concerns from the session. Monitors do not supervise the figure models, but may communicate verbally during the sessions if the model is announcing a break, change of pose, or requests an adjustment to the lights/temperature.
Please contact Myles Dunigan (2D Studio Manager mdunigan@oberlin.edu) with any questions related to the position. Experience or interest in Studio Art and/or drawing is strongly encouraged for applicants, but not required. You must be a current, enrolled Oberlin student during the period of employment.
Please be sure to clock into the correct position if you currently employed in multiple roles.
