As a Global Planner, you will play a critical role in strategic resource allocation, optimization and capacity planning within our organization. You will be responsible for developing and implementing global planning strategies to optimize the utilization of resources, meet customer demand, and support the achievement of business objectives. Your expertise in supply chain management, demand forecasting, and capacity planning will be essential in coordinating and aligning planning activities across multiple locations and timeframes.
Global Planners will be assigned by product segment and be responsible for identification and clear articulation of global demand, supply, capacity and inventory requirements, constraints, mitigation & optimization plans defined and confirmed through the S&OP process.
Responsibilities :
Develop and execute global planning strategies by product, considering factors such as customer demand, production capacity, inventory levels, lead times.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including sales, operations, procurement, and logistics, to gather demand forecasts, production plans, and inventory data to support the global planning process.
Conduct analysis and evaluation of demand patterns, market trends, and supply chain constraints to ensure accurate and robust global planning.
Define and maintain global planning parameters, such as safety stock levels, reorder points, and lead times, based on business requirements and optimization models.
Coordinate with ALAM affiliates, Finite Planners and other stakeholders to align inventory, capacity and resource utilization across different locations, ensuring optimal production and distribution strategies.
Monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs), such as forecast accuracy, inventory turns, service levels, and production efficiency, to identify areas for improvement and develop action plans.
Collaborate with technology teams to leverage planning systems and tools, ensuring their effective utilization and driving continuous improvement initiatives.
Drive supply chain visibility and transparency through regular reporting and communication of global planning metrics, forecasts, and performance updates to key stakeholders through the S&OP process.
Stay updated with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in global planning and supply chain management, incorporating relevant insights into the planning processes.
Participate in cross-functional projects and initiatives to enhance operational efficiency, mitigate risks, and support strategic objectives.
Maintain close coordination with ALAM sales, products, customer service and AL affiliates to ensure reliability of supply.
Drive adherence to and refinement of the ALAM S&OP process & performance especially in the areas of demand, supply, capacity, inventory.
Drive accountability through process performance metrics and continuous improvement initiatives.
Identify, initiate & lead continuous improvement initiatives improving supply chain effectiveness across multiple sites & the global supply chain.
Lead supply chain taskforce coordinating all activity internal and external to facilitate required supply to ALAM customers.
Facilitate and act as single point of contact for affiliate communications during supply chain taskforce
Act as a formal mentor to Finite or Global planning team members
Writing of SOP’s, SWI’s, scheduling guidelines and competencies for S&OP and other planning related actions.
Drive and replicate supply chain operational excellence and best practices across multiple sites.
Required Qualifications :
Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, operations management, or a related field. Master's degree is a plus.
7-10 yrs proven experience in global planning, supply chain management, or related roles within a complex manufacturing or distribution environment.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret and analyze large datasets and make data-driven decisions.
Proficient in using planning software and tools, such as ERP systems, demand planning software, and capacity modeling tools.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders at various organizational levels.
Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
Knowledge of lean and continuous improvement principles, with experience in driving process optimization and efficiency gains (Green or Black Belt certification).
Familiarity with global trade regulations, logistics, and inventory management practices (w / certifications).
Ability to adapt to a fast-paced and dynamic environment, demonstrating resilience and flexibility.
