Oblon, McClelland, Maier & Neustadt LLP (“Oblon”) seeks an Associate with 2 years of patent prosecution experience to join its Chemical Patent Prosecution Practice Group. A technical background is required in the areas: inorganic chemistry; organic chemistry; or chemical engineering. Industrial experience is a plus. A Master’s or Doctorate in the relevant field is preferred.
The position will be involved in all facets of patent law including the analysis and preparation of replies to office actions; invention and disclosure meetings/calls with clients; preparation and prosecution of new patent applications; counseling clients on patent related matters; agreements and related transactions; and appeals.
Qualified candidates must possess a J.D. from an ABA accredited law school and be licensed to practice in a state bar and before the USPTO.
We seek candidates with a demonstrated track record of academic achievement and superior writing and interpersonal skills.
Salary range: $150,000 to $160,000 annually.
