OBR Cooling Towers is seeking a skilled Construction Project Manager to join our team. The ideal candidate will organize and plan projects for OBR while taking the lead to ensure projects are completed on time, budget, and to specifications. This position will support the Southwest territory of OBR. Travel will be required as needed.
JOB DESCRIPTION
The Project Manager will organize and plan projects for OBR while taking the lead to ensure projects are completed on time, budget, and to specifications.
ROLES / TASKS OF THE POSITION
- The PM will be the center-point of projects assigned and collaborate with OBR sales, engineering, drafting, construction, safety, and accounting to direct projects to successful completion.
- Review contract documents to make sure material purchase meet contract specifications.
- Review sales documents including OBR proposals, estimates and customer POs to develop a clear understanding of scopes of work and budgets.
- Plan overall project schedule, including design, procurement, expediting, construction, and project closeout to meet customer schedule requirements.
- Outline tasks involved in the project and delegate accordingly.
- Develop construction packages to communicate project requirements to field crews. Packages must be submitted well before mobilization dates to allow planning.
- Hold turnover meetings with construction, sales, safety, and quality to confirm there is a clear understanding of project requirements prior to mobilization.
- Conduct cost analysis, including current cost status and cost forecasts to complete. Notify the finance department when forecast changes occur (cost and / or revenue).
- Provide administrative support for field employees to ensure projects are built on schedule and within budget. This includes timely resolution of material issues and / or customer impacts. The PM must take a “drop everything” approach when it comes to urgent field issues.
- Assist with development of project safety documents and work with customers and OBR construction and safety departments to develop safe work plans.
- Participate in marketing, estimating, bidding, and drawing production for projects as required.
- Develop and maintain project schedules.
- Drive project profitability by acting as the liaison between sales and field employees regarding project progression and current financial performance.
- Provide timely pricing, approval, and execution of project change orders.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, local, industry, and OBR regulations, standards, specifications, and best practices.
- Work in Viewpoint Spectrum (ERP) to track and control project costs, invoicing and approve vendor invoices.
- Interface with Safety and the Controller on project planning.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
