Job Description
The Quality Assurance Quality Control (QA/QC) Specialist is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining a system of quality and reliability testing for the organization’s products and/or development processes. This role spans both manufacturing and field erection/installation projects, ensuring compliance with quality standards and fostering continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and manage processes to ensure compliance with specifications and reliability standards for services, including creating Level 1, Level 2, and Level 3 documentation.
- Evaluate and qualify vendors, ensuring manufacturing and quality processes align with required standards.
- Identify and set appropriate quality standards and parameters for in-house manufacturing and for field installation projects.
- Interprets and analyzes engineering drawings, schematics, and standards (OBR and/or customer).
- Communicate quality standards and parameters to the OBR team.
- Coordinate and oversee equipment testing processes.
- Assists with the development of project specific quality documents, including Inspection Test Plans (ITPs).
- Conduct shop and site audits as determined necessary by OBR management or customer requirements.
- Develop non-conformance reports and collaborate with engineering, project management, sales and/or construction teams to implement corrective actions and prevent recurrence.
- Identify recurring issues, defects and bugs, facilitating effective solutions and preventive measures.
- Review feedback from clients, customers, and users to ensure continuous improvement.
- Maintain compliance with federal, state, local, and organizational laws, regulations, guidelines, and policies.
- Prepare and present quality materials for the annual construction meetings or additional training sessions as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Minimum of 1 year of QA/QC experience required with a focus on Quality Assurance.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or other technical degree preferred but not required.
- Prior construction experience highly preferred.
- Strong organizational skills and mechanical aptitude.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Project.
- Self-motivated with a willingness to learn, collaborate, and contribute effectively.
- Industrial plant experience preferred.
- Preferred certifications: CMQ/OE, CQA, CQE, CRE OR CSSBB.

- Ability to work in hot, humid environments, both office and industrial plant settings, including power plants and refineries.

- Lifting of up to 50 pounds, bending, climbing (stairs and structures), and stooping, and keyboarding/typing.

- Willingness to undergo a respirator fit and pulmonary test when required as a respirator may need to be worn on occasion.
