Reports to: Executive Director, Resident Camp
The Resident Camp Health Center Coordinator oversees the coordination of camper health information and serves as the primary liaison between camp families, staff, and healthcare providers. This role involves reviewing camper health forms, communicating special needs, and facilitating telehealth coordination. The Health Center Coordinator ensures all health-related processes align with camp policies and maintains a safe environment for campers and staff.

Essential Functions:
- Review camper health forms in advance, identifying concerns, and communicating with families to address medical or special needs.
- Serve as the primary contact for communicating camper health needs and accommodations to counselors and staff.
- Coordinate with healthcare providers, including telehealth services, to address medical needs during camp operations.
- Facilitate collaboration between the camp team and external medical providers, ensuring seamless communication.
- Ensure compliance with camp health policies, including documenting health-related concerns and updating medical records.
- Act as the point of contact for nighttime telehealth access, providing basic first aid and assistance when necessary.
- Assist in managing health supplies, ensuring availability of first-aid materials and maintaining a clean, organized health center.
- Provide health and safety guidance to staff, ensuring awareness of camper needs and adherence to protocols.
- Document and report all health-related incidents or concerns to leadership as needed.
- Promote a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment for campers and staff.
Performs other duties and tasks as assigned by leadership.
Required Qualifications:
- 3 or more years experience in health coordination, camp operations, or youth programs.
- Familiarity with telehealth systems and basic first aid procedures.
- Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with families, staff, and healthcare providers.
- Strong organizational skills to manage medical records and health-related documentation.
- Ability to identify and address health-related concerns promptly and professionally.
- Knowledge of child safety and health policies in camp settings.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams and external partners.
- Basic proficiency in technology and medical record systems.
- Availability to work flexible hours, including evenings, as required.
All YMCA team members are expected to maintain a current and active status for all safety, risk, and programming certifications defined by the YMCA of Greater Charlotte.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration, nursing, or a related field (preferred).

Working Conditions:
- Live-in or on-call availability during the camp session.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and irregular hours as needed.
- Frequent interaction with children, staff, and families in an outdoor camp setting.
- Ability to work extended hours, including evenings and weekends, with irregular schedules exceeding 40 hours per week.
- Capacity to walk, stand, sit (including on the floor), bend, kneel, lean, and maintain alertness for long periods.
- Exposure to communicable diseases and bodily fluids, requiring adherence to hygiene and safety protocols.
- Ability to lift and assist children weighing up to 50 pounds and carry supplies up to 20 pounds.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with fluency in English.
- Visual and auditory ability to respond quickly and effectively to critical situations and emergencies.
- Proficiency in entering and managing data for extended periods.
