Job Summary
The Academic SME supports all aspects of the development and implementation of the NEST Standardized Training Program (NSTP) strategy, as well as assigned projects, and serves as the single point of contact for those projects. The SME is responsible for managing projects from original concept through final implementation, interfacing with all stakeholders, including service support contractors (SSC), end users, computer services, and client services. This role involves defining project scope and objectives, developing detailed work plans, schedules, project estimates, resource plans, and status reports. The SME also conducts project meetings, tracks project progress, and ensures adherence to quality standards and timely delivery of project deliverables.

Requirements
Specific Responsibilities
- Oversee all aspects of project lifecycle management for assigned NSTP strategy projects, ensuring successful execution from initiation to completion.
- Define project scope, objectives, and deliverables in collaboration with Federal leadership and stakeholders.
- Develop and maintain detailed work plans, schedules, project estimates, and resource allocations.
- Conduct regular project meetings to track progress, identify risks, and ensure alignment with project goals.
- Collaborate with SSC personnel, end users, and technical teams to integrate tasks and align deliverables.
- Provide technical and analytical guidance to project teams to facilitate problem-solving and innovation.
- Manage project tracking and reporting, including the preparation of detailed status reports for Federal leadership.
- Ensure adherence to established quality standards and project timelines, reviewing deliverables for accuracy and completeness.
- Support the development and refinement of processes and procedures in coordination with SSC personnel and Federal leadership.
- Recommend and implement solutions to address project challenges and improve outcomes.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., Education, Project Management, Business, or related discipline). Advanced degree preferred.
- Minimum 10 years of experience in project management or a related role.
- Demonstrated experience in managing complex projects with multiple stakeholders.
- Proficiency in project management tools and software, such as Microsoft Project or equivalent.
- Exceptional analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with diverse stakeholders.
- Knowledge of NSTP strategy and associated processes preferred.
- Ability to obtain and maintain Q Clearance.
Physical Requirements and Work Environment
- Normal office environment with occasional extended hours to meet deadlines.
- 50% travel
