Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes transporting Hazmat, petroleum, oils, and/or lubricants. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-06).
Selective Placement Factor: This position requires the incumbent to possess a Commercial Driver's License (CDL).

- Identify, label, and dispose of hazardous materials and waste properly.
- Maintain continuous compliance with Federal, State, and local regulatory guidance.
- Operate motor vehicles up to and including 26,000 pounds (11 Tons).
- Serve as technical point of contact on hazardous materials and hazardous waste management as they pertain to cleaning solvent.
- Conduct both formal and informal inspections and investigations of specific incidents of ongoing operations, relative to compliance with emphasis on parts washer and solvent use standards.
- Prepare formal reports of findings and recommend corrective action for submittal through the chain of command to supervisor, if necessary.
- Assist in the development and implementation of an environmental education and training program for activity personnel.
Conditions of Employment
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Pre-employment physical and annual physicals are required.
- The incumbent must pass urinalysis testing as required prior to appointment and periodically thereafter.
- Incumbent must be able to obtain and maintain hazmat and tanker endorsement within 12 months of Entry On Duty.
