Duties

  • Serves as the supervisor for Conservation Law Enforcement Branch.
  • Participate in planning, coordinating, and conducting the enforcement program of Federal, State, and installation fish and wildlife regulations.
  • Ensure physical security measures are in effect in remote areas of the installation for the protection of Government property, endangered or threatened species, and cultural / archeological protected / sensitive sites.
  • Conduct community relations activities, briefings, tours and other functions, which enhance appreciation of the wildlife and promotes a positive attitude and public awareness of fish, game laws and regulations.
  • Distribute and balance the workload among employees, ensuring that assignments are performed in a timely manner.
  • Instruct employees in specific tasks and job techniques.
  • Maintain a current knowledge and answer questions of other employees on procedures, policies, directives, etc.
  • Check on work in progress and reviews completed work to ensure that supervisor's instruction and deadlines have been met.
  • Responsible for performing duties designed and mandated to provide controlled, safe hunting and boating activities, including conducting scheduled and unscheduled marine patrols to ascertain compliance with federal and state boating laws.
  • Conduct law enforcement activities to include: surveillance, interviewing witnesses, interrogating suspects, searching for and collection of physical evidence, seizures of contraband, equipment, and vehicles, securing search warrants, etc.
  • Coordinate with local Natural Resources office to ensure that Conservation Law Enforcement activities are fully integrated within the Installation Natural Resources Management Plan (INRMP) and Installation Cultural Resources Management Plan (ICRMP).
  • Review police reports, patrol reports and ongoing investigations to ensure complete/concise and factual information/reporting.
  • Patrol and check boundaries, restricted areas, and hunting and recreation areas.
  • Patrol and check those areas of the installation which are inaccessible to normal patrols and physical security inspectors such as range buildings, construction equipment, telephone and power lines, pumping stations, etc.

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment. A background investigation and credit check are required.
  • This position requires shift work to provide coverage on evenings, weekends, holidays, or special situations; and work may involve mandatory overtime. Employee shifts are rotated on a regularly scheduled basis.
  • The duties of this position meet the criteria for compliance with Federal and Department of the Army Drug Free Workplace Programs.
  • Incumbent must meet all other mandatory requirements of AR 190-56, "The Army Civilian Police and Security Guard Program."
  • IAW AR 190-56 must successfully pass a pre-employment and recurring physical examinations as required by Federal Law and the Office of Safety and Occupational Health Administration.
  • IAW AR 190-56 incumbent must take and pass an initial Physical Agility Test (PAT) within 30 days of hire, and annually thereafter.
  • IAW AR 190-56 incumbent must meet all requirements of the Individual Reliability Program (IRP).
  • IAW AR 190-56 incumbent must complete an initial and an annual Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) recertification and first aid requirement.
  • IAW AR 190-56 must be able to qualify initially and at a minimum, semi-annually recertify with assigned weapon(s) and handling of assigned weapon(s) to include less than lethal weapons.
  • IAW AR 190-56 incumbent must be able to be qualified and certified in the use of chemical aerosol irritants, tear gas, RADAR gun and breathalyzer equipment.
  • IAW AR 190-56 this position requires a police uniform and safety equipment (e.g., chemical protection masks must be snug to the face for personal protection).
  • The duties of this position require the incumbent to possess or obtain and maintain a valid state Driver's License in one of the 50 U.S. states or possessions to operate vehicles.
  • The duties of this position require the incumbent to possess or obtain and maintain any installation and/or DoD license required for the type of vehicle being driven.
  • This position is subject to irregular and/or rotating shifts, overtime, weekends, and/or holiday work schedules to provide coverage on evenings, weekends, holidays, or special situations.
