What we are looking for?
This multifaceted role will see you deliver against a range of IT requirements including BAU client support issues, manage escalations from Level 1 engineers and customer projects. Using your technical knowledge and ability, you will need to be a strong business IT analyst and be responsible to work both from the OBT office as well as on-site at customer premises when required as well. We are seeking a person who has the ability to work well in a team environment while self-managing to perform to customer and project deadlines. With a solid understanding of the concepts of networking and cloud services, you'll be enthusiastic about developing your knowledge of the essential IT infrastructure of OBT. What about you?
You will be an experienced Level 2 Systems Engineer from an MSP IT Service background and have excellent client service and communication skills. You will have proven operational experience implementing and maintaining networks and systems (LAN & WAN). A motivated, self-starter who is keen to be challenged and work well in wide-spread global team environment. A solution thinker, you'll thrive in a problem solving environment and your support centric approach will lead you to tailor the outcomes to the specific needs of your clients. You will also be looked upon to manage the escalation of any support request in an efficient and effective manner to meet customer needs and expectations.
Mandatory technical requirements include;-
- A relevant IT degree;
- A minimum of 3-5 years’ experience at a systems integrator firm or managed IT service provider in a customer facing role;
- Strong understanding of core Microsoft systems including Windows, Active Directory, Office 365;
- Demonstrated experience with Exchange and Citrix;
- Microsoft Skype for Business experience is not essential but favourable;
- Clear and reliable understanding of Routing, Switching, LAN/WAN;
- Advanced Windows Server skills;
- Group Policy & Scripting(highly desirable);
- Experience in Migration and the various works and orders of works for such;
- Advanced proven troubleshooting skills;
- Hyper-V or ESX (ideally both);
- Storage (Multiple Vendors) favourable.
The successful candidate will also possess;-
- Ability to relate well with clients, management, peers and vendors;
- Excellent communication skills and ability to deal with high pressure situations;
- The ability to build and maintain strong relationships with clients and vendors;
- Ability to work under pressure with superior organisation skills in order to work to deadlines for time critical work;
- A sense of ownership to follow-up and ensure a professional outcome;
- Eagerness to learn willingness to support the technical team in attitude, commitment and working hours;
- The ability to delegate but maintain ownership of tasks to ensure their completion within agreed timeframes;
- Self-motivated capable of setting your own tasks and objectives;
- Ability to provide technical support on products and solutions that address specific customer problem and needs;
- Eagerness to research and keep abreast of developments and best practice related to the company and competitor products in order to allow the required level of technical support and generation of solutions to customers;
- Committed to grow in skill, certification and experience;
- To act as an interface between customers and the company in the provision of any services they may be called upon to render.
