We are seeking a dedicated, Bilingual English and Spanish-Speaking Medical Assistant to join our healthcare team.
Looking for a MA who is a team player, good communication, professional, motivated, self-directed learner, can adapt to new situations quickly, interested in learning new skills, can work independently, trustworthy and have a good work ethic. You will be cross-trained to the top of your license to do all duties to run an office. Fast-paced environment. Must be willing to learn new skills and be trainable.
We are hiring urgently to fill in a FRONT DESK position. While all Medical Assistants are cross-trained to perform all duties, this position is more focused on triaging phone calls, talking to patients, helping schedule appointments, refill medications, call pharmacy for refill issues, call insurances for prior authorizations or other issues.
MUST be comfortable with speaking on the phone to patients, the pharmacy, or insurance companies in both English and Spanish.
Hours: Part time in the mornings, around 10am-2pm Monday-Friday. (subject to change, may be 9am-1pm on some days)
Responsibilities
- Organize and schedule appointments
- Update and file medical records and insurance reports
- Checking the faxes throughout the day
- Checking Eligibility
- Submitting and following up on Authorizations
- Assist during medical examinations
- Translate from English-->Spanish and vice versa during medical examinations
- Produce and distribute correspondence memos, letters, faxes and forms
- Prepare and clean treatment rooms and medical instruments
- Open to one-on-one training and feedback
- Will be supervised by the physician and office manager
Skills
- Proven working experience as a medical assistant or medical secretary
- Excellent time management skills and ability to multi-task and priorities work
- Strong Front Desk patient communication skills (in person, and phones)
- Social perceptiveness and service oriented
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organizational and planning skills
- Degree in medical assistance
- Skill in giving subcutaneous and intramuscular injections
