Position Overview:
We are seeking a Client Billing Specialist to manage the invoicing and payment process for our residential solar customers. This role is responsible for preparing and issuing invoices, tracking outstanding balances, coordinating payment collections, and providing excellent customer service related to billing inquiries. The ideal candidate has experience in accounts receivable, billing, or finance, preferably in the solar or construction industry, and is proficient in QuickBooks Online.
Location:
Our office is conveniently located in Irvine, CA, within the brand-new Innovation Park corporate park, right off the 5 Freeway at Sand Canyon.
Key Responsibilities:
Billing & Invoicing:
- Generate and send invoices to customers based on contract terms, project milestones, and financing agreements.
- Ensure accurate billing by coordinating with the project management and sales teams.
- Maintain detailed records of invoices, payments, and outstanding balances.
Customer Account Management & Collections:
- Monitor and track outstanding payments, ensuring timely collections.
- Follow up with customers on overdue accounts while maintaining a positive customer experience.
- Provide clear and professional communication regarding billing inquiries, payment plans, and financing options.
- Process and apply payments in QuickBooks Online, ensuring accuracy.
Financial Reconciliation & Reporting:
- Reconcile customer accounts, ensuring all payments and transactions are recorded properly.
- Generate AR aging reports and assist with month-end closing tasks.
- Identify and resolve discrepancies in billing or payments.
Customer Support & Communication:
- Serve as the primary contact for customer billing questions and concerns.
- Work closely with the finance, sales, and project teams to resolve billing-related issues.
- Educate customers on billing processes, financing terms, and payment options.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 3 years of billing or accounts receivable experience, preferably in the solar or construction industry.
- Proficiency in QuickBooks Online and Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel).
- Strong attention to detail and ability to reconcile accounts accurately.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills with a professional and friendly approach.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently and work both independently and collaboratively.
