The annual base salary range for this position in California is $120,000 to $150,000 per year. The starting pay for the successful candidate depends on various job-related factors, including but not limited to the candidate’s geographic location, job-related knowledge, skills, experience, education/training, internal value, peer equity, external market demands, and organizational considerations.
The Real Estate Planning & Reporting Manager will oversee the planning, reporting, and accounting support functions within the real estate division (AREP). This role requires a college degree and a minimum of six years of experience in a real estate FP&A role and reports to the Senior Vice President, Real Estate Accounting.
Responsibilities
Planning:
- Support the development of annual and long-term business plans, focusing on capital and related funding sources
- Develop and maintain an operational cash flow planning tool that leverages project proforma data
- Coordinate with various departments on planning inputs
- Build automated tools and templates to streamline the gathering of business planning data and report back on actual results throughout the year
Reporting:
- Develop and maintain real estate development and operations dashboards
- Develop and maintain GAAP financial reporting templates; prepare financial statements for review quarterly and as requested
- Maintain Accounts Payable monitoring dashboard
- Ensure accuracy and timeliness of all financial and operational reports
- Develop and maintain reporting systems to track key performance indicators
- Provide ad-hoc reporting as requested by management
- Analyze data to identify trends and provide actionable insights
Accounting Support:
- Provide support to the accounting team to automate account reconciliation tools
- Collaborate with the accounting/finance teams to manage project budgets
- Provide support for tax planning and compliance related to real estate assets
- Provide support/reporting for cost segregation study requests
Other Duties:
- Support Finance team with data/analytics as requested
Skills
- College degree in Finance, Accounting, Real Estate, or a related field
- Minimum of six years of experience in a real estate FP&A role
- Experienced in budgeting and accounting, supporting accurate forecasting and financial planning
- Advanced Excel skills, including proficiency in advanced formulas and macros
- Familiarity with Yardi/DataFreedom reporting tools
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and presentation abilities
- Proficiency in reporting tools
- Knowledge of real estate market trends and regulations
- Proficient in financial analysis and reporting, with the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights
- Skilled in data analysis and interpretation to support strategic decision-making
- Advanced Excel capabilities, including the use of complex formulas, pivot tables, and macros
- Familiar with Yardi and DataFreedom reporting tools for financial and operational data management
