Job Title: Oculoplastic Physician Assistant (PA) / Nurse Practitioner (NP)
Location: All Ocala Eye locations (flexible schedule required)
Position Type: Full-Time
Job Summary:
Ocala Eye is seeking a dedicated and motivated Physician Assistant (PA) or Nurse Practitioner (NP) to join our Oculoplastic team. This position will work closely with Dr. Kim and other members of our team to provide high-quality care to our oculoplastic patients. The ideal candidate will assist the surgeon in the operating room, manage post-operative care, and perform minor in-office surgical procedures. While previous experience in oculoplastics is not required, the candidate must demonstrate a willingness and ability to learn and commit to both internal and external training.
Key Responsibilities:
- Surgical Assistance:
- Assist the oculoplastic surgeon in the operating room, including suturing and other support tasks during surgery.
- Develop skills to evaluate oculoplastic surgical candidates and determine appropriate surgical options.
- Patient Care Management:
- Manage postoperative care for oculoplastic surgical patients, including follow-up visits and monitoring recovery.
- Perform minor in-office surgical procedures such as lid lesion excisions, biopsies, skin tag removals, and injections.
- Clinical Support and Development:
- Collaborate with Dr. Kim to assess patient needs and coordinate care across multiple locations.
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development to enhance oculoplastic surgical skills and knowledge.
- Taking pre and post op photos
Qualifications:
- Education and Certification:
- Licensed as a Physician Assistant (PA) or Nurse Practitioner (NP) in the state of Florida
- All appropriate licenses required for credentialing with insurance payers.
- Skills and Experience:
- Previous experience in oculoplastics is not required; however, the candidate must demonstrate a strong willingness and ability to learn.
- Must be comfortable performing minor surgical procedures and providing hands-on patient care.
- Excellent communication skills and a commitment to patient-centered care.
- Training will be provided but Dexterity with fine sutures and ability to handle delicate tissues will be required.
- Other Requirements:
- Flexible schedule with the ability to travel to all Ocala Eye locations as needed.
- Commitment to ongoing education and training in oculoplastic surgery.
