We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Personal Care Assistant to join our team. This role is essential in providing high-quality care and support to individuals in need, particularly middle aged-older adult with developmental disabilities. Responsibilities
- Assist residents with daily living activities, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and meal preparation.
- Provide medication administration as prescribed, ensuring compliance with resident care plans.
- Monitor patients' health status by observing and reporting changes in their condition to nursing staff.
- Uphold resident rights and dignity while providing direct support and assistance.
- Engage residents in meaningful activities that promote social interaction and cognitive stimulation, music, dancing, arts and crafts.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment for resident, adhering to health and safety regulations.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to develop individualized care plans tailored to each resident's needs.
Requirements
- Previous experience in a group home or special school environment is preferred.
- Familiarity with memory care practices and working with individuals with developmental disabilities is a plus.
- Knowledge of medication administration protocols and patient monitoring techniques.
- Strong understanding of resident rights and the importance of maintaining confidentiality, positive behavioral support, and recognizing that adults with autism have feelings too.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to build rapport with residents and their families.
- Compassionate nature with a genuine desire to help others improve their quality of life.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
