Occupational Services, Inc. (OSI) is a private, non-profit organization serving individuals with intellectual, developmental, and significant mental health challenges in vocational training programs. We are currently seeking a CNA (Certified Nursing Assistant) to join our team, either full-time or part-time.
No evenings, weekends, or holidays!
Essential Duties:
Responsible for daily personal care assistance for assigned clients, including toileting, changing, and personal cleansing. Provide assistance to clients as needed during incidents of illness and/or incontinence, including assistance with “sponge bath” method of personal cleansing and assistance with changing clothing. Responsible for using universal precautions in all aspects of personal care including handling of soiled clothing and other items, as well as proper disposal.
Complete training in the use of mechanical lift for transferring individuals during personal care service. Responsible for ensuring lift and accessories are properly sanitized, stored, and maintained.
Document personal care for each client serviced, including time and code of service rendered. Obtain signatures as appropriate and file necessary documentation.
Work cooperatively with staff assisting with personal care to provide services in a sensitive and confidential manner. Train substitute personal care staff and ensure that coverage is provided during planned absences.
Monitor and restock emergency/first aid stations and kits on a monthly basis. Communicate with management regarding replacement needs and maintaining sufficient supplies of first aid supplies.
Provide supervision, monitoring, and assistance in the lunchroom during client breaks.
Supplement contracted cleaning services by assisting in maintaining a clean and orderly building. Tasks required may include tidying furniture and dusting surfaces, sweeping and mopping floors, dusting, cleaning windows, vacuuming carpets, trash removal, sanitizing toilets, wiping mirrors and sinks and restocking disposables (i.e. soap and paper products).
Secure, clean, and sanitize areas in the event of spills/soiling, including those involving bodily fluids. Responsible for proper use of containment supplies and implementing universal precautions.
Responsible for maintaining knowledge of proper use and precautions regarding cleaning supplies, including review of all applicable Safety Data Sheets.
Maintain inventory of cleaning supplies and provide order list to management. Restock cleaning supply storage area as needed.
Take responsibility for obtaining 24 hours of annual staff training and documenting that training on a regular basis. Attend additional training as assigned by manager.
Part-time: 8:00 a.m. - 2:30 p.m., M-F, Health insurance available, paid vacation, sick, holidays, 401K
Full-time: 7:30 a.m. - 4:00 p.m., M-F, full complement of benefits
