What are the responsibilities and job description for the Collections Laborer position at Occupational Training Center?
- Visiting various residential communities throughout Burlington County, on a daily basis, in order to collect recyclable materials.
- Operating an automated lift in to empty recycling carts or buckets into the recycling truck.
- Assists the operator in maintaining full compliance with all OTC vehicle operation and safety policies.
- Assists the operator in performing all required Pre -Trip and Post Trip vehicle inspections completely and accurately.
- Use correctly and consistently appropriate personal protective equipment during collections operations.
- Assist the operator in following collection routes established by the Collection Department and servicing these routes in accordance with OTC collection service procedures.
- Assist the operator in following properly all procedures for vehicle scaling and unloading at the OTC Materials Recycling Facility.
- Performs any other tasks requested by the Collection Supervisors or the Collection Manager.
- Maintain a professional and courteous manner.
- Follow OTC policies for inspection and rejection materials that were improperly prepared for collection.
- Communicate promptly and accurately to the operator regarding special collection problems or needs.
- Willingly and effectively cooperates with OTC, The Department of Human Services, The Division of Developmental Disabilities (DDD), and other licensing or state agency or local municipalities in any inspections and investigations, upon request.
