What are the responsibilities and job description for the Heavy Equipment Operator position at Occupational Training Center?
- Safely operate equipment for the processing of materials generated through collection.
- Inspects and trouble shoot problems that may occur with the equipment, understand how the equipment functions.
- Follows all safety policies and procedures, including lock out/tag out.
- Maintain quality control of materials processed by the equipment. Insure that contaminates are properly removed. Report incidents of excessive contamination to the immediate supervisor.
- Performs preventative maintenance on equipment such as maintaining fluid levels, lubrication, filters, and minor part replacements in the system. Continuously monitors the equipment to insure proper operation and minimize downtime report major repairs to the immediate supervisor.
- Completes equipment maintenance sheet and reports any necessary repairs to the immediate supervisor.
- Ensures that the equipment is properly cleaned and that all debris is removed and disposed of properly.
- Maintain safety awareness at all times including but not limited to operation of equipment, wearing ear protection, work boots, safety gloves, glasses, vests and belts.
- Reports promptly all accidents that occur regardless of the severity of the damage or injury to the Supervisor or Manager.
- Maintain good attendance and punctuality
- Maintain good personal hygiene and appearance.
- Willingly and effectively cooperates with OTC, The Department of Human Services, The Division of Developmental Disabilities (DDD), and other licensing or state agency or local municipalities in any inspections and investigations, upon request.
- Assists with labor duties as required.
- Performs other duties, as assigned.
