About the Role
As a Certified Coder, you'll play a pivotal role in ensuring accurate and timely coding for patient encounters. Your work will directly support compliance, optimize reimbursement, and improve clinical documentation. Here's how:
- Assign Codes: Accurately apply ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS coding for inpatient and outpatient services.
- Audit and Educate: Conduct coding reviews, identify improvement opportunities, and partner with providers for education and clarification.
- Collaborate: Work closely with clinicians, patient financial services, and leadership to ensure documentation aligns with regulatory standards.
- Analyze and Report: Prepare and present coding trend reports to support decision-making and operational excellence.

What We're Looking For
The ideal candidate will bring:
- Required Certifications: CPC, CCS-P, CRC, CEMC, COC, CCS, or CCA.
- Proficiency: ICD-10, CPT coding, and medical records terminology.
- Preferred Experience: 2 years in a clinical setting, rural health clinic experience, and familiarity with Epic systems.
- Strong Communication: Ability to clearly explain complex concepts and motivate others.
- Team Spirit: A collaborative, solution-oriented mindset.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- BLS certification (within 6 months, company provided).
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Familiarity with HIPAA and Washington state confidentiality standards.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks with professionalism and precision.
