Job Summary:

Custodians are responsible for executing the daily duties required to establish and maintain a safe, hygienic, and aesthetically pleasing care environment. While executing the assigned tasks, the Custodian will have contact with patients, visitors, and clinical and non-clinical staff. Contact should be appropriate to the specific demographics of patients served in assigned service areas. Responsible for ensuring timely room turnovers related to patient flow within the basic principles of environmental hygiene and infection prevention. The environmental services department, by organizational standards of quality, is an essential contributor to cleaning, disinfection, infection prevention, and patient experience. Responsible for responding favorably to requests to adjust daily workflow or area assignments to meet facility needs.

Performance Responsibilities:

• Please note that you must be able to pass a drug screen, to include marijuana.
• Please note that this a nighttime position.
• Ability to work under various conditions (i.e., lifting, working above ceiling level, and under floor area).
• Employees are required to complete all training on time.

• Employee maintains practices of financial stewardship.
• Ability to operate maintenance and janitorial equipment found in maintenance shop and laundry department.
• Follow daily issue/task sheet, work as directed by supervisor.

• Ability to safely and proficiently operate janitorial tools and equipment including digital programmed washer, maintenance tools.
• Perform courier duties/services for medical/sample runs to various locations.
