About the Role: We are looking for a Registered Nurse who is responsible for the direct and indirect care of surgical/procedural patients from pre-operative admission and assessment to intra-op, to post-op recovery and through discharge. In addition to these responsibilities, the process to get patients on the schedule, review pre-op charts, and assist with Central processing tasks is expected. Care is based on regulations and industry standards that provide compliance guidelines for Quality, Infection Control, Technical practices, and the needs of the department and resources available. This role also takes rotational call with department staff.
Your Key Responsibilities
- Perioperative patient care in the areas of Pre-Admit, Scheduling, Admission, Circulating intra-op, post-op recovery, and discharge
- Acting as a liaison to patients, families, providers, and other departments to coordinate perioperative care for patients
- Review and document in the electronic medical record (EMR) and accompanying documents, to ensure completion and timeliness in accordance with standards and/or regulations.
- Documentation of assessments to ensure patient safety is provided for. Any recognized concerns are handled according to OBH policy and procedures.
- Assisting with setting up, turnover, pulling cases, opening supplies and instruments, decontamination of instruments, and general maintenance of the department and its equipment/supplies.
Qualifications Required:
- Current RN License (WA State).
- Certifications: ACLS, PALS, CPR/BLS, TNCC (within 6 months), NIH Stroke Scale (within 30 days).
- Strong communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.
Preferred:
- BSN or MSN.
- Perioperative experience preferred.
- CNOR preferred.
