What are the responsibilities and job description for the Youth Sports Program Manager position at Ocean Beach Youth Group?
Ocean Beach Youth Group is a non-profit organization that aims to provide an 8-week day camp experience for youth. We are seeking a qualified individual to fill the role of Ocean Sports Director. This position is responsible for leading our surf program and ensuring that every camper becomes a comfortable ocean swimmer.
Responsibilities
The ideal candidate will have the following qualifications:
- Be at least 21 years old
- Hold waterfront lifeguard certification
- Have First Responder CPR and AED for the Professional Rescuer, First Aid certification and Epi Pen Training
- Be knowledgeable about the ocean and proper safety protocols
- Understand tides, rip tides, lifeguard flags, and lifeguard training
- Have surfing experience and be comfortable in the ocean
- Be familiar with ocean front beach sports such as volleyball, Kan Jam, and spike ball
- Be able to create new games and activities for non-swimming days
- Communicate effectively with Village of OB lifeguards daily for ocean safety
- Adhere to current Board of Health guidelines for NYS camps
