What are the responsibilities and job description for the OBW Party and Group Host position at Ocean Breeze Waterpark?
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Set up party or group gathering area and ensure they are fully stocked with necessary items
- Confirm food preparation for reserved space and serve party food
- Responsible for making every element of the party special: assist with decorating and singing happy birthday
- Working closely with members of the Marketing and Sales leadership to provide solutions to any issues that may arise during group or party events
- Clean up party or group reserved space opportunities after each event to include washing serving items and restocking reserved area carts
- Develop and maintain a thorough understanding of all current admission price points and promotions
- Learn to assist customers on the phone, and in person with questions about group and parkwide promotions offers
- Assist group leaders and party coordinators with adding tickets and products
- Develop excellent cash handling skills so that all transactions can be correct, efficient and pleasant
- Follow up with customers to confirm reservation details and upsell available options
- Package and send collateral, tickets, vouchers and wristbands to upcoming or potential groups
- Participate in cold calling campaigns and other sales strategies throughout the season to drive attendance
- Assist with group and parkwide promotion event coordination on the day of the visit or event to include set-up, ticket packaging, table coverage, leading activities and clean-up
- Build or enhance skills that lead to the opportunity to learn and use reporting functions of internal point of sale programs and booking software as well as programs like Constant Contact, Jotform and WordPress
- Support leadership in tasks related to opening and closing the sales office each day
- Uphold waterpark brand standards in all work efforts
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment for customers and other employees
- Provide superior customer service to all customers in a polite and expedient manner
- Follow all park policies and procedures
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Must be at least 16 years old
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Microsoft Office Proficient preferred
- Approachable, outgoing and excited about suggestive selling
- Ability to multitask and complete assigned task in a timely manner
- Ability to count money and make change
- Ability to accept guidance and supervision
- Ability to communicate effectively with customers, team members, and leadership
- Be aware, attentive, and work well with others
- Ability to work in outdoor weather conditions while taking precautions, including hydration and sun-protection
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to sit, stand, or walk for extended periods of time
- Must be able to lift, carry, move and/or position items weighing up to or more than 25 pounds
