Ocean County Department of Juvenile Services is hiring full time Juvenile Detention Officers.
New Jersey Civil Service Code #05008
Under general direction of a supervisory employee during a shift, controls the general conduct and behavior of juvenile residents, the maintenance of discipline, and custodial, recreational, transportation, and housekeeping functions; does other related duties as required. The Juvenile Detention Center is a 24/7/365 day facility. Officers work 8 hour shifts, which include day, evening, and/or overnight shifts, including weekends and statutory holidays.
Graduation from high school, vocational school, or possession of an approved high school equivalency certificate is required.
Applicants must be an Ocean County resident and a citizen of the United States. Appointees will be required to possess a driver’s license valid in New Jersey.
Appointees will be required to successfully complete a training program by the New Jersey Justice Commission within the time period prescribed by law or the New Jersey Justice Training Commission.
Salary $43,000.00 annually.
