Description
Provides direct supervision of a group of children during before and after care programs. Provides a quality experience to children and parents focused on YMCA core values: honesty, respect, responsibility, and caring.
Essential Functions:
1. Assists in implementation of programming with a designated group of children
2. Communicate effectively with Supervisor on a continuous basis. Share all needs of children and incidents throughout the day.
3. Communicate with children clearly and effectively using positive discipline.
4. Help plan, supervise, and implement YKids curriculum and schedule.
5. Plans and implements program activities that are culturally relevant, developmentally appropriate and consistent with YMCA values.
6. Adheres to program standards including safety and cleanliness standards.
7. Attends staff meeting and trainings, including NJCCIS trainings.
8. Follows YMCA policies and procedures, including those related to medical and disciplinary situations, child abuse prevention, and emergencies.
11. Maintains positive relations with parents and other staff. Models relationship-building skills in all interactions.

Qualifications
1. Previous experience working with children preferred.
2. Experience preferred in one or more of the following areas: recreational activities, sports, songs/music, recreational games, etc.
3. At least 16 years of age.
5. Attend Orientation, NJCCIS online training, along with Child Abuse Prevention training within 30 days of hire date. Must be First Aid/CPR certified.
6. Previous experience with diverse populations preferred.
7. Ability to plan, lead, and participate in a range of activities in a variety of outdoor/indoor settings.
8. Ability to move actively with the group of children at site
9. React appropriately to emergency situations.
Salary : $15 - $17
