Registered Dental Assistant in Extended Functions I & II (RDAEF)

The Registered Dental Assistant in Extended Functions (RDAEF) provides essential support in delivering quality dental care. This role includes patient care, assisting with various dental procedures, performing dental hygiene tasks, and managing administrative responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities:
Patient Care
- Prepare patients for dental procedures and ensure their comfort.
- Educate patients on oral health practices to promote good dental hygiene.
- Prepare the work area for procedures and conduct preliminary health evaluations.
- Address patient questions and concerns.
Dental Procedures
- Take diagnostic X-rays and impressions.
- Placing fillings, cementing crowns and bridges, and fabricating provisional crowns and bridges.
- Deliver partials and dentures to patients.
- Provide post-treatment instructions to patients.
- Operate dental tools and sterilize instruments, using both slow-speed and high-speed handpieces.
Administrative Tasks
- Schedule patient appointments
- Maintain accurate patient records in our Electronic Medical Records (EMR) system.
Additional Duties
- Apply Pit and Fissure Sealants and place fluoride varnishes.
- Adjust partials and dentures as needed.
Qualifications:
- Current RDAEF License, issued by the Dental Board of California.
- Current CPR (BSL or ACLS).
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to high-quality patient care.
