Summary:
The PM Housekeeping Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the evening operations of the housekeeping department, ensuring a clean, organized, and well-maintained property in line with resort standards. This role supports the Director(s) of Housekeeping in supervising team members, conducting inspections, coordinating late-day turnarounds, and responding to guest and maintenance needs.
Key Responsibilities Include:
- Supervise and support the housekeeping team during the PM shift to ensure cleanliness of guest rooms, public areas, and resort facilities.
- Coordinate daily shift operations, ensuring rooms are cleaned and ready by the scheduled check-in times (3:00 PM & 4:00 PM).
- Perform regular quality inspections to ensure cleanliness and maintenance standards are met.
- Assist with scheduling, timekeeping, and labor cost control by monitoring occupancy and adjusting staff coverage as needed.
- Communicate effectively with other departments (front desk, engineering, laundry) regarding room status updates, guest needs, and maintenance issues.
- Ensure that all staff follow proper safety and cleaning protocols, including OSHA compliance and proper chemical handling.
- Respond to and resolve guest and employee concerns in a professional and timely manner.
- Support training efforts for new hires and reinforce departmental procedures with existing staff.
- Monitor supply levels and assist with inventory management and ordering for the PM shift.
- Ensure proper storage and care of linens, amenities, and equipment.
- Act as the point person for evening vendor interactions and late-arriving guests' housekeeping needs.
Key Requirements:
Physical Standards: Must be able to walk and stand for long periods of time. Must be able to lift and carry 25 pounds.
- 2 years of progressive experience in the hospitality industry, preferably in Housekeeping.
- Knowledge of public area management.
- Knowledge of proper chemical handling and following OSHA requirements.
- Ability to provide legible communication.
- Prior experience in payroll management.
- Ability to control expenses in accordance with the budget.
- Prior experience developing and maintaining a housekeeping training program.
- Ability to motivate all team members.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office, Internet Explorer and prior PMS experience.
- Valid U.S. driver's license.
