Ocean Edge is hiring a detail-oriented and strategic Purchasing Manager to join our team! This pivotal role is responsible for overseeing all aspects of purchasing and inventory control within the Food & Beverage department, ensuring top-quality products are sourced at the most competitive prices.

Essential Functions:
· Communicate with the Director of Food and Beverage, Executive Chef, and Sous Chefs and order all food, beverage, and non-food supplies according to Resort needs and specifications.
· Obtain bids from vendors according to the specifications set by the standards and/or department head. Determine the best possible price for the desired items and place orders for all food, beverage and non-food items, being sure to utilize Ocean Edge’s Purchase Order and Checkbook standards when necessary.
· Review shipments to ensure products received are consistent with the orders placed. Responsible for monitoring grades and quality of products to ensure that they meet the Resort’s standards.
· Manage Food and Beverage requisition procedures to ensure each department(s) needs are stocked in a timely manner with the appropriate products as requested by the specific department.
· Monitor appropriate levels of inventories to minimize waste and maximize turnover, following FIFO system while maintaining storage and cleanliness standards as stated by State and Local Health Department requirements.
· Examine and review proposed products and services to determine compliance with departmental specifications or standards, suggest substitute items when beneficial.
· Building and maintaining strong relationships with suppliers to ensure reliable supply chains.
· Review of vendor/contractor history
· Analyze trade journals, catalogues, directories and other technical material with respect to market and price conditions.
· Initiate and implement research into new products and technologies
· Conduct monthly inventories.
· Monitor key performance indicators to reduce expenses and improve procurement efficiency.
Skills and Qualifications:
· Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
· Strong ability to lead a team
· Strong attention to detail
· Secure knowledge of raw ingredients and materials common in the Food Service Industry.
· A Strong understanding of inventory control, logistics, and distribution
· Proficiency in analyzing data and making informed decisions
· BS degree preferred
