We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental practice. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and ensuring the smooth operation of our dental office. This position requires a thorough understanding of dental procedures, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively within a team.
Duties
- Assist the dentist during various procedures, including examinations, fillings, and extractions.
- Prepare and sterilize instruments and equipment in accordance with safety protocols.
- Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) as needed.
- Maintain accurate patient records, including medical history and treatment plans, while ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Manage appointment scheduling and patient follow-ups effectively.
- Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care.
- Perform administrative tasks such as managing medical records and coding for insurance purposes.
- Utilize 3D scanners for imaging when required.
- Monitor vital signs as necessary during procedures.
- Stay updated on advancements in dental technology and techniques, including endodontics.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; completion of a dental assistant program is preferred.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and vital signs is essential.
- Familiarity with medical coding practices and electronic health record systems such as Epic is advantageous.
- Previous experience in a dental assisting role is mandatory. Additional training will be provided for the right candidate.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with patients and team members.
- A commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality and adhering to HIPAA guidelines.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while demonstrating attention to detail.
- CDA and X-ray license mandatory. RDA helpful.
