We're on the lookout for driven and ambitious trainees to join our growing Geophysics team as we expand with the game-changing delivery of our state-of-the-art Armada fleet! Ocean Infinity is seeking Trainee Geophysicists/Geologists to work with the geophysical data processing, interpretation and reporting. The trainee will gain awareness and experience in survey, data processing and interpretation of, but not limited to, side scan sonar, sub bottom profiler, magnetometer/gradiometer and geotechnical data sets with support, supervision and help from more experienced personnel. The persons we are looking for is an active communicator with deep interest in geology and geophysical data as well as challenging conventional methods. What will you do: Gain experience of the geophysical and geotechnical data processing software and techniques used within the offshore survey industry; Perform tasks assigned and request assistance when needed; Assist colleagues to ensure that processing routines are continuously reviewed with respect to efficiency and quality; Be proactive in self-development; Identify personal training needs, bring them to the attention of the Department Lead’s, whilst take full advantage of the education provided; Work as part of a team to complete projects to client requirements, to a high technical standard, whilst also working on tight deadlines; Assist the geophysicists and senior geophysicists in project specific tasks as much as is possible; Learn quality control procedures and apply them to the designated tasks; Work with a team in our Gothenburg based operations centre that follows a shift pattern to cover 24 hour operations. Who you are: Fulfil the Ocean Infinity requirements for Geophysicist Trainee based on the IMCA guidelines; Hold a Bachelor's degree or equivalent, at a minimum, in geology (Marine, Quaternary, Bedrock, etc) or geophysics; Fluent in written and spoken English; Have a thorough knowledge and working experience in Microsoft 365; Have strong communicative skills and understand the importance of communicating with colleagues and others; Driven, proactive and able to work autonomously with little supervision towards the company's purpose; Have excellent time management skills and ability to prioritize work in a fast-paced environment; Able to withstand stress and work toward deadlines; Have critical thinking and planning skills, are proactive, and take initiative; Ability to work well in a team as well as independently; Ability to take ownership and engagement in the work; Open and receptive to new and different ideas; Enthusiastic about protecting people and the planet. Salary for this position: 360,000 SEK per annum Number of positions available: 10 Salary: The salary varies for this position as we are recruiting in multiple regional locations and job grades. The salary process is based on skills, abilities, and experience required.
