Assistant Harvest Forecaster

The Assistant Harvest Forecaster supports the Harvest Forecaster in estimating product sales and coordinating all aspects of assigned commodities. This role involves working closely with harvesting crews, ensuring quality standards, and assisting with yield reporting and volume projections. Travel and seasonal relocation to various harvesting locations is required.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Assisting in daily harvesting operations
• Rotating between commodity crews to ensure adherence to Ocean Mist Farms’ quality standards
• Supporting the Senior Harvest Manager with yield updates and reporting
• Assisting in coordinating with growers on final-field irrigation and sprays
• Helping prepare harvest estimates and four-week volume projections
• Coordinating with sales on volume, product condition, and daily orders
• Supporting order coordination and crew placement
• Distributing orders and any changes to Field Supervisors
• Being present during the startup of new commodity areas
• Reviewing variety trials and providing recommendations to management
• Taking photos for marketing and sales purposes
• Perform other duties as assigned

Job Requirements and Qualifications

• Recurring travel and relocation to all harvesting areas required
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred; continuing education in job-related areas is a plus
• 1 years of experience in Quality Assurance or a related field; experience in commodity management or supervision is a plus
• Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred
• Basic knowledge of computer programs such as MS Word & Excel
• Experience with Famous software or other inventory control systems is a plus
• Valid Class “C” California Driver’s License required; must be insurable
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to interpret data to make informed decisions
• Ability to work independently, follow defined procedures, and collaborate effectively with teams
