Role Summary :
Under the guidance of the Sr. Director of Strategic Planning and Marine Procurement, this position plays a pivotal role in driving the success of terminal and marine products. Key responsibilities encompass product development, procurement, ensuring supplier service quality, and monitoring product performance.
Additional Responsibilities :
Develop and execute short-, medium-, and long-term procurement strategies to ensure efficient and cost-effective service delivery.
Collaborate with Global Terminal Procurement in Singapore to implement global procurement strategies within the North American market.
Proactively draft, negotiate, maintain, and ensure compliance with all relevant contracts and service agreements.
Develop and revise procurement policies in alignment with company guidelines and compliance requirements.
Build and maintain strong relationships with marine suppliers.
Act as the primary liaison for Marine and Terminal Operations, including deployment and alliance matters.
Develop innovative models to analyze supplier offers, operational capabilities, and capacity.
Quantify total cost and total value of services to identify areas for cost reduction.
Lead marine cost control initiatives, including data analysis and trend identification to minimize costs.
Manage tariff structures and work cross-functionally to ensure new surcharges are accurately accounted for and aligned with budget and compliance.
Lead product improvement and new product development activities in collaboration with internal stakeholders and suppliers.
Participate in the Terminal Success Program and address operational performance concerns with suppliers.
Conduct daily oversight of supplier service quality, escalating issues and implementing countermeasures as needed.
Prepare cost budgets and reconcile monthly expenses and credits.
Manage invoice service verification, coding, and approval for terminal and marine services.
Coach and mentor employees to achieve high performance, utilizing KPIs, metrics, and goals.
Conduct performance appraisals in accordance with company guidelines.
Assume responsibility and accountability for all direct and indirect reports, ensuring compliance with company policies.

Proven experience within the liner operations / logistics industry, including a strong understanding of procurement principles and practices.
Demonstrated experience managing budgets exceeding $10,000,000 annually.
Possesses a strong commercial mindset with a focus on profitability and cost-effectiveness.
Ability to effectively manage multiple projects concurrently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
Proven ability to develop and implement strategic plans, identify and capitalize on new opportunities, and drive continuous improvement.
A strong track record of successful collaboration with senior management, peers, and cross-functional teams.
Required Minimum Years Experience :
10 years experience overseeing marine or terminal services contracting or services.
10 years of experience managing vendor relations and product development.
8 years of managing / supervisory experience
Required Minimum Education :
Bachelor’s degree preferred
