What are the responsibilities and job description for the Wound Care Nurse Practitioner position at Ocean NP?
Responsibilities:
- Leading the team in Wound Round to patients in long term care facilities, as well as home-to-home
- Perform diagnostic evaluations of wounds and develop appropriate treatment plans
- Apply standard wound dressings and perform procedures such as incision and drainage and wound debridement
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care and ensure optimal outcomes
- Provide education to patients and their families on wound care management and prevention strategies
- Document patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately and timely
Skills:
- Valid nurse practitioner license and relevant certifications
- Proficient in diagnostic evaluation of wounds and assessment of patient needs
- Experience in applying bedside wound dressings and performing procedures such as debridements
- Ability to assist in rolling and turning patients safely, adhering to proper body mechanics
