Join world-class experts in finding answers to our customers’ toughest questions as a Product Manager for Ocean Optics Systems and Software in Ocean’s Strategic Marketing organization designed to bring deep understanding of customer and market needs to drive growth. As our Systems and Software Product Manager you will work directly with Marketing, Engineering, Application and Sales teams to make decisions around product vision, strategy and product roadmap to achieve new product and commercial excellence.
Through a natural curiosity and passion for scientific discovery, the successful candidate will:
Ocean Optics pioneered miniature spectrometers and delivers spectral solutions to researchers, OEMs and industrial customers, also designs and builds industrial-grade photonics systems for material inspection, chemical identification and quality assurance.

Through a natural curiosity and passion for scientific discovery, the successful candidate will:
- Partner closely with the Application and Engineering teams to provide input on product and market requirements to execute new product introductions.
- Drive product portfolio and lifecycle management based on customer insights and competitive landscape – working with cross-functional teams to execute.
- Conduct product research to further understand the competitive profile for the segment and opportunities for growth to inform market strategy, pricing, and product financials.
- Establish the vision, strategic plan, and roadmap for the Core product portfolio based on the voice of the customer to support the business strategy.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Product Management, Marketing, Engineering, Business Administration, or related field.
- 5 years’ experience in product management, product development, or related field.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Strong analytical and process skills.
- Strong project management skills.
- Work effectively and collaboratively with diverse, cross-functional teams and customers.
- MBA or Master’s degree in Product Management, Marketing, Business Administration, Scientific Chemistry Engineering, Physics or related field.
- Experience in Optics, Manufacturing, or Software.
- 8 years’ experience in product management, product development, or related field.
- Deep Product Management/Marketing expertise: market analysis, NPI process, product roadmap development, requirements, and product life-cycle management.
- Leadership skills to lead teams and shape product vision and strategy.
