Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Assistant Bookkeeper to join our team. The ideal candidate will assist our Bookkeeping manager in maintaining accurate financial records and support the overall accounting functions of the organization. This role is crucial in ensuring that all financial transactions are recorded accurately and timely, contributing to the smooth operation of our financial department for our aquarium service department and our three retail stores.
Responsibilities
- Assist in preparing and maintaining financial statements, including balance sheets and income statements.
- Assist in the scheduling and formulation of service routes for our technicians to maximize productivity and time management
- Assist all employee payroll processes like employee hours , and commissions.
- Perform bank reconciliation to ensure accuracy between bank statements and company records.
- Process journal entries and maintain accurate records of all financial transactions.
- Support the month-end closing process by preparing necessary reports and reconciliations.
- Utilize various financial software to manage accounting tasks efficiently.
- Collaborate with the public accounting team to ensure compliance with financial regulations and standards.
- Assist in balance sheet reconciliation and prepare documentation for audits as needed.
- Maintain organized financial files and documentation for easy retrieval.
Skills
- Proficiency in accounting software is preferred.
- Strong understanding of financial concepts and technical accounting principles.
- Experience with bank reconciliation and balance sheet reconciliation processes.
- Ability to perform journal entries accurately and efficiently.
- Excellent attention to detail with strong organizational skills.
