Billing Assistant

The Position:
This full-time position for a Billing Assistant manages a multitude of tasks in the day-to-day operations of the Billing Department. The Billing Assistant helps by handling: Billing activities, Eligibility verification and weekly reports, etc.

Requirements:
- AA with or BA/BS with some experience
- Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures
- Competency with computers and relevant software applications
- Basic skills in customer service principles and practices
Job Duties:
- Perform daily billing functions for billing company, commercial insurance, and Medicaid
- Verify client eligibility
- Reconcile remittances and research all denials and rebill as necessary
- Phone calls to insurance companies for follow up
- Report to Billing Director any discrepancies
- Provider insurance credentialing and follow up
- Update reports for Billing Director for provider billing
- Correspond with providers
- Other duties as assigned
