Job Description:
The Master Painter role at OSJL leads the execution of high-quality painting projects across the Company’s property portfolio, ensuring exceptional aesthetics and long-term durability. This role meticulously estimates, plans, prepares, and oversees the flawless completion of both interior and exterior painting projects by a dedicated crew. A keen eye for detail and mastery of painting techniques are essential for achieving consistently superior results that enhance the visual appeal and value of the Company’s properties.
Key Responsibilities:
- Guide, train, and monitor the performance of a team of painters, providing constructive feedback for continuous improvement.
- Leverage in-depth knowledge of painting materials to select the right products for optimal results on each project.
- Survey buildings to identify the need for repairs, develop project schedules, and ensure work flows adhere to designated plans. Inform OSJL’s Painter Foreman of any changes to schedules and work flows.
- Promote a safe work environment by ensuring proper equipment care and maintenance and adherence to environmental practices. Perform work in compliance with Company-established standard operating procedures, productivity standards, and OSHA requirements.
- Perform a wide range of tasks including, but not limited to, wood refinishing (i.e., preparation, staining, sealing), caulking (exterior and interior), finish repair, mudding, taping, and sealing.
- Apply paints, sealers, and solvents to various surfaces (i.e., plaster, sheetrock, concrete, wood) with precision, ensuring flawless finishes and adherence to high-quality standards.
- Review completed work for compliance with specifications, identifying and resolving any issues as needed.
- Operate various equipment (i.e., airless spray equipment, scaffolding, motorized lifts) safely and efficiently.
- Weekly travel between OSJL’s corporate campus and its store locations is required. Nearly 100% of this role is in the field, traveling within the assigned region. Some overnight stays will be required on occasion, based on availability.
Qualifications:
- 5 or more years of experience painting in a commercial environment is required.
- Must have a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.
- Completion of OSHA 10-hour training, or have the ability to complete training within the first (1st) year of employment.
- Certified on the operation of aerial lifts, or have the ability to obtain certification within the first two (2) weeks of employment through Company-provided training.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and Google platform (i.e., Sites, Slides, Drive, Docs, Sheets).
Work Environment:
- While performing the duties of this job, the associate is regularly exposed to outside weather conditions. The associate is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, or electrical components. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
- Considerable physical activity is required including, but not limited to, heavy lifting, pushing, or pulling of objects up to 50 pounds; climbing and working from ladders up to 36 feet.
