Job Description :
The Induction role within the Distribution Center (“DC”) at Ocean State Job Lot (“OSJL” and “Company”) is responsible for placing cases of merchandise on the conveyor and induction systems while ensuring that store labels are properly applied and positioned on the boxes. This role will safely take cases from built pallets or will pull cases directly from floor loaded trailers manually.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Accurately complete and submit daily productivity sheets.
- Place individual cases on a conveyor belt or induction line.
- Apply labels to the cases, ensuring the cartons can be read via the conveyor system.
- Load and unload freight onto the conveyor in an efficient and safe manner.
- Sort and stack pallets and cartons based on order of work.
- Consolidate merchandise in an accurate and safe manner.
- Maintain a neat, orderly, and clean work area to meet or exceed area safety, quality, and productivity standards.
- Prepare pallets for induction by slicing the shrink wrap and discarding waste.
- Maintain compliance with standard operating procedures and OSHA standards.
- Operate a hand jack or power equipment to move pallets, if necessary, once certified.
