As a School Bus Driver for Ocean State Transit, you will operate a school bus or van to designated bus routes to transport school-aged passengers to their destination. In addition, a School Bus Driver may transport various clients for charter trips.
Job Type: Part-Time
Location: 307 Oliphant Lane Unit 9Middletown RI 02842
Shift: Monday-Friday
Hours: 6:00am-8:30am – 1:30pm-4:30pm/6:30pm (varies by location)
Responsibilities:
- Drive a school bus route - picking up and dropping off student passengers at established stops on the route
- Conduct Pre-Trip vehicle inspections to ensure safe operation
- Conduct post-trip vehicle inspections
- Attend and participate in safety meetings
- Clean bus as necessary to maintain a professional appearance and positive company image
- As requested or desired to take field trip, activity and charter runs to transport students and other passengers to and from their destinations
Qualifications:
- Must be 21 years or older
- Must have a minimum of 3 years verifiable driving history
- Must be able to pass a DOT physical examination
- No more than 2 moving violations and 1 preventable accident in the past 3 years
- Must be committed to training and processes
- Ability to adhere to company safety standards and operating procedures
- Ability to successfully pass a background check
