Job Overview
The Inventory Control position plays a crucial role in managing and optimizing inventory levels within the organization. We are looking for a responsible, results-driven, and highly motivated Inventory Control Associate who is ready to take on responsibilities that include providing appropriate support to sales team, proficient in data entry, QuickBooks, understands the capability of our software system inventory solutions, and has strong problem-solving ability. Our ideal candidate will uphold the ideals and standards of our company and will constantly strive to meet all goals and exceed customer expectations.
Responsibilities
- Support sales team in generating revenue as a first priority
- Demonstrates proficiency in word processing, QuickBooks,Excel, database use, the capability of the POS system, telephone and email skills
- Financial data entry in QuickBooks.
- Understands receiving process, custom clearance process and when and how to return inventory to vendor for credit or repair
- Coordinates all incoming merchandise shipments to inventory area and coordinates all outgoing vendor returns
- Secures merchandise appropriately
- Demonstrates the ability to interact professionally with clients, vendors, & co-workers
- Demonstrates effective use of time
- Understands purchase categories and demonstrates order control with replenishment of core product, new purchasing and special orders
- Follow procedures and reconciliation on open purchase orders, back orders, special orders and vendor orders
- Assist in maintaining customer database.
- Handle incoming and outgoing mail/packages
- Keeps office inventory stock up to date
- Coordinates with sales team to ensure timely pick up and compliance with layaways
- Maintains an organized and accurate filing system for inventory records
- Participate in team meetings
- Answer and direct incoming calls and emails, taking messages and insulating owners from solicitation calls
- Keeps office inventory stock up to date
- Assist with general office tasks, including maintaining a clean and organized work environment
- Other duties and tasks as assigned by management
Skills
- Strong data analysis skills with proficiency in analytics tools.
- Experience in inventory management practices and procedures.
- Familiarity with retail management concepts is a plus.
- Ability to perform root cause analysis to resolve inventory issues effectively.
- Knowledge of procurement processes and strategies for efficient stock management.
- Proficient in financial modeling and financial analysis related to inventory control.
- Training will be provided for our software system and all other related areas.
This role is essential for maintaining operational efficiency within the organization, ensuring that inventory levels meet customer demand while minimizing excess stock and associated costs.
