Job Description
Haile Gold Mine in Kershaw, South Carolina is seeking a Intern for 2025 to:
- Assist metallurgical team in evaluating processing parameters for optimum gold production.
- Work in a lab environment on a project determined by the metallurgical team.
- Write a detailed technical report on the project(s) and review results with metallurgical team.
- Quantify economic benefits associated with the project outcomes.
- Interact with all levels of employees in a positive and cooperative manner for mutual success and the success of the company.
Qualifications
- Working towards degree in Mineral Processing, Metallurgy, Chemical Engineering, or other science related field(s).
- Experience in a lab setting preferred.
- Experience with mass and energy balances.
- Basic understanding of mineral processing unit operations.
- Good organizational skills, detail-oriented, and the ability to work with others in a team environment
Physical Requirements:
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, sit, demonstrate manual dexterity, climb stairs, talk, hear and see.
- Must be able to work shift work 10 hour shifts.
- Occasionally may be required to lift moderately heavy objects (up to 50 pounds) during the workday.
- Work is in a surface mine plant setting, which may include exposure to extremes in temperature and humidity.
- Personal protective equipment is required when performing work in a mine environment, including hart hat, hearing protection, safety glasses, safety footwear, and as needed, respirator, rubber steel-toe boots, protective clothing, gloves and any other protective equipment as required.
