Position Summary
Responsible for fabricating and assembling electronic and electro-mechanical assemblies, including soldering various electrical connectors, point-to-point wiring of circuit boards, fabricating brackets and mounts, and testing of completed assemblies.
LOCATION
Requires daily onsite attendance; this is not a remote-work position.
Duties & Responsibilities
ESSENTIAL
Solder electrical connectors, wire connection points, and electronic components. Must be skilled in preventing cold solder joints on all applicable connection points.
Reading and interpreting electrical or electronic wiring diagrams or schematics.
Operating a digital multi-meter.
Drill and tap, cut material on a band saw, build brackets, and mount components.
Run Windows programs to set up various pieces of equipment.
Perform repairs or refurbish electronic or electro-mechanical assemblies.
Maintain records in accordance with shop standards.
Qualifications
REQUIRED
Two (2) years of formal electronics training or 2 years on the job experience; or any combination of experience and education in which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities are achieved.
Minimum 1 year experience reading electrical or electronic wiring diagrams or schematics.
Proficient at operating a digital multi-meter.
Ability to run Windows programs to set up various pieces of equipment.
DESIRED
Knowledge of fiber optics testing.
