Now hiring a Full-time Activity Assistant to assist in providing a program of activities for residents, under the supervision of the Activities Director. The Activity Assistant must have the ability to promote positive relationships with residents, visitors and government regulators. Ability to present a professional appearance and attitude.

ACTIVITY ASSISTANT QUALIFICATIONS

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. EDUCATION AND / OR EXPERIENCE

No prior experience or training.

ACTIVITY ASSISTANT ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

General Functions

  • Assist in planned activities based on resident's comprehensive assessment and care plan as directed by the Activity director
  • Conduct and / or assist in individual, group and bedside activities
  • Work with staff and other disciplines to ensure resident participation
  • Assist in maintaining required records and documentation.

Residents' Rights Functions

  • Maintain the confidentiality of all resident care information including protected health information.
  • Know Resident Rights
  • Help residents exercise and / or protect their rights
  • Report residents / family complaints / concerns to Administrator
  • Safety & Job Hazards Functions

  • Ensure work areas are safe
  • Procedures regarding cleaners or hazardous materials or objects are strictly adhered to.
  • Equipment and supplies are properly stored.
  • Ensure Universal Precautions procedures are followed.
  • Ensure Infection Control procedures are followed
  • Ensure Isolation procedures are followed.
  • Ensure Fire, Safety & Sanitation procedures are followed.
  • Promptly report any hazardous conditions and equipment to the supervisor.
  • Report all accidents and incidents.
  • Inservice & Staff Developments Functions

  • Attend Orientation
  • Attend Inservices as required by the state
  • Participate in training new staff members as requested.
  • Attending staff meetings.
  • Other Duties

    Perform other duties as assigned.

    QUALIFICATIONS

    LANGUAGE, MATHEMATICAL AND REASONING SKILLS

  • Ability to read a limited number of two- and three-syllable words and to recognize similarities and differences between words and between series of numbers. Ability to print and speak simple sentences.
  • Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry to detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • PHYSICAL DEMANDS

The employee must occasionally lift and / or move up to 50 pounds.

    WORK ENVIRONMENT

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustics chemicals, outside weather conditions, and risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Is subject to exposure to infectious waste, diseases, conditions, etc., including TB, and the AIDS and Hepatitis B viruses.
